Who is responsible for backups, what we back up, and what we guarantee.
Your responsibility
Unless a service explicitly includes managed backups, keeping usable backups of your data is your responsibility. We strongly recommend an off-server backup plan for every production workload.
What we back up
Web hosting plans include daily account backups retained for 7 days, provided as a courtesy and not as a guarantee. Managed VPS, VDS and dedicated plans include the managed backup schedule described in the plan. Backup storage products are fully under your control: you define the schedule and retention.
Restores
Self-service restore is available from the panel for backup products and web hosting. Restore requests handled by our engineers on managed plans are free once per month; additional restores may carry a small fee communicated in advance.
Limitations
Backups are stored encrypted, but a backup that was never tested is not a guarantee. Test your restores. We are not liable for data loss on services where backups are the customer's responsibility.
